UPnP is used to replace manual port forwarding. Some gaming box (XBOX, PS3) will need UPnP feature to connect to their respective server. Enabling it in OpenWRT Backfire is relatively easy.
1. Install UPnP package
Go to System –> Software and find upnp. Install these 2 packages (luci-app-upnp & miniupnpd)
or from your shell
root@OpenWrt# opkg install miniupnpd luci-app-upnp
root@OpenWrt# /etc/init.d/miniupnpd start
2. Check your UPnP configuration
Go to Service –> UPNP
You can check UpnP status from the status page.
